Forgive me but......
I’m sorry but I have left the ranks of believers in this CO2 hurting the earth theory. It’s been 23 years now and none of the promised hell has happened. Iit’s obvious after 2 and half decades, the theory was wrong. BUT, that does not mean we should compromise at all. We DO need to find new technology but back in 1900 they wondered what to do with all of the horses needed by the year 2000. Oil IS bad for peace but let’s start embracing the future instead of fearing it. I would like everyone to face the future with optimism, bravery and healthy anticipation. My daughter thinks that she does not have a future, all thanks to the CO2 theory that promises she will be living on a planet with an unbearable climate. A veiled threat of death if there ever was one.
Enough is enough so lets stop leading environmentalism down the wrong road because that not going to help anyone. The people of this planet should work together to PROTECT, PRESERVE, and respect nature, not save and rescue it with fear from a non-existent crisis.
I’m sorry, but I can’t do this anymore with a gun to my head. Stop the fear, and switch paths to a healthy planet, not a healthier planet.
We are living longer now than at any time in human history, 70% of Canadians own and or mortgage their own home, 99% of Canadians ARE not homeless and Rachel Carson cleaned up our planet from back when a river caught fire in smoggy Ohio in 1968.
It’s good news. I suggest everyone try it.
Peace.

Anyone who brings up "Silent Spring" as a reference immediately lacks any scientific credibility. Even the most ardent greenies have distanced themselves from Rachel Carson's flawed and scientifically inaccurate work. In fact, she should be demonized for essentially causing the deaths of millions due to malaria.
"What can it hurt to reduce our emissions?" Reducing our CO2 emissions in the manner suggested by the global warming alarmists will lead to economic chaos. And all this without compelling evidence that CO2 is the culprit. Who Knew Global warming was this important... and this much scary! If We Dont Take Action Now than in 9 years the world will die of Global Warming..GET INVOLVED!
hey it's kinda silly that there are these wallpapers, cuz putting a black screen conserves more energy that having all those pictures.
on that note, instead of using google, u shud use www.blackle.com it saves a lot of energy just because it has a black background... otherwise it's the exact same search engine.
that japan had made some sort of machine or making,
that will use a persentage or 2 of earths water to reduce overflow and flooding if global warming does occur ( which should not likely but if so then the world is well just st***d.
And whats this about signing a treete about reducing emissions by 50% over the next 5-6 years why dont they just do it now ..dawwwg.
the people are earth are so selfish likee whatt can;t they take more care about the earth likee wthh. i knoww i didn;tt caree beforee but now i do alott cause i see how its changingg and how its getting hotter and humidd outsidee and i can;t sleep at night cause its to hottt orr likee when i watched the movie in class about polar bears drowning just so we can leave our computers on or t.v while we go out for the whole day to record a show or to get a message form a friend if its thatt ergentt turn your computer off and get your friend to email you while its off or record your shows with your tv off we neeed to help protect our earth before its to latte pleasee pass it onn .
I have a truck which seems to lump me into the evil SUV group for some reason. But, I guess I use my truck sometimes to get me from Point A to Point B, like to buy more compact fluorescent bulbs, or pick up compost for my garden or to get me to the closest park and ride. When I do drive the beast I don't go thru drive-thrus and I don't idle at traffic lights or train crossings. Sometimes, just for fun I'll put my bicycle (the one I ride to work) in the back and drive someplace nice for a bit of recreation.
Anyhoo, I'm pretty sure you get where I'm going... not all SUV/Pickup truck owners are driving around trying their hardest to suck up all the non-renewable resources we can. What we take, we often more than make up for in other areas.
Everyone has something to offer in fighting what is killing Earth, and like everyone is themselves unique, so is their contribution.
Be safe and do what you can however you can.
I agree with you one hundred percent. My family owns a Dodge Ram 1500, so people just assume that we do not care about the environment. We are definately doing our part. My siblings and I all walk a good 25 min to school and back everyday. I take a bus to work instead of driving myself. We never leave the water running, or anything turned on when it is not in use. We do not use air-conditioning in the summer, and in the winter our thermostat never goes higher than 62oF (it kills us yes, but why waste energy when we can throw on a sweater or cozy up under a blanket). We recycle everything we can. If we run out of milk or something like that, instead of driving to the store for one or two items we take a nice walk to Mac's to pick it up. It may be a little pricey, but it is still less than the cost of the gas it would have taken to drive to the store (and it is environmentally friendly).
Don't forget that organic food requires at least twice as much land to grow as crops grown using high yield farming methods. This leads to unnecessary deforestation. If our civilization ever switched over entirely to organic food, everyone would starve because we wouldn't have enough land to grow the crops to feed everyone.

ZIPCARFlick Off supporters can join Zipcar for only $30/year. FLICKER OF THE MONTH
Kaylah Harrison, Shannon Skidmore and Kristina Jones of Estevan, Saskatchewan jumped at the chance to volunteer at Flick Fest and sell some of our gear. Living in Estevan, they really understand the importance of balancing power production with environmentalism. And their help spreading the FLICK OFF message is just one of the reasons that Flick Fest was such a success. Thanks girls! To nominate your FLICKER of the Month Click Here! |
